Fed up on Fathers Day?

Yesterday myself and Aoife went shopping to buy Robert some ‘token’ presents for Fathers Day.  Charlie wasn’t able to come with us as him and Robert are still suffering the tail end of the vomiting bug which we have all had.

So today Robert received his breakfast in bed (grilled = heart patient) and opened his gifts.  There was a ‘No 1 Dad’ Trophy from Charlie wrapped in 4 layers of wrapping paper.  Aoife had gotten him a teddy bear as she said he was only one in the house with out a bear- God love her.

After breakfast Robert went straight back to sleep, the bug has been particularly severe on him as any small thing on top of his heart problems knock him out.

But hope is on the horizon, two weeks from wednesday he will be at St Barts hospital in london to see his Consultant Dr Sporton for the first time.  Hopefully by the end of the summer he will have the proceeedure behind him and be back to his old self.

The other day I was complaining I had been sick for three days and was bored of being sick.  He looked at me incredulously and said ‘Try almost two years, then you will know all about boredom’.

In fairness I don’t know how he keeps his head,  but he has, and we are so grateful –  the end is almost in sight – Happy Father’s Day Robert!
